Determination of Natural Radionuclides (Ra-226, Po-210, Ra-228 and K-40) and Cs-137 in Fish Consumed in the City of São Paulo

The aim of the study was to determine activity concentration natural radionuclides (226Ra, 210Po, 228Ra and 40K) artificial radionuclide 137Cs in muscle marine fish species most consumed city São Paulo evaluate annual effective dose due consumption fish. Samples were collected supermarket chain Extra Carrefour distribution center CEAGESP. Six selected among available city: anchovy, tuna, dogfish, croaker, hake sardine. After sample preparation procedures, determination 226Ra, 228Ra, 40K carried out by gamma spectrometry 210Po alpha spectrometry. results obtained for all studied are below limits adopted Brazilian Standards and, therefore, their offers no risk ingestion this radionuclide. samples analized low same order magnitude as data from literature. doses, studied, showed that exposure analyzed radionuclides.
